Resources for 2Hunt
The Weekend
Ted Cunningham and Gary Smalley returned to MISSION on May 2 for 2Hunt. Ted challenged listeners to consider what guarding their hearts might look like, based on the understanding that the heart is "the wellspring of life" as it says in Proverbs.
After the service, couples visited the twoignite tent on campus to sign up for 2Hunt events and to pick up a free gift and a brand-new resource.
To encourage conversation, twoignite gifted couples at MISSION and Woodland Hills Family Church with a twoignite Conversation Deck - a deck of playing cards printed with questions to help the conversation go deeper. Great for dinner conversation as a couple or a group.
And at MISSION, couples picked up the first issue of FireLight, a resource designed to keep couples talking and help them dig deeper into the current igniter. Listing upcoming events and recommended resources for the igniter, FireLight includes three short guides for further conversation as a couple and a few questions also suitable for a small group.
The Events
8 on 8
Couples at MISSION signed up to attend "8 on 8" - dinners for eight on May 8. Low-tech, easy to facilitate, dinners for eight is a great way to help couples connect and talk about communication.
MISSION presents Shaunti Feldhahn
Bestselling author Shaunti Feldhahn came to MISSION on May 22 to give us a look inside our spouse's head. She spoke from her books, For Women Only and For Men Only, giving couples new insight into how the other thinks and feels. From why men don't want to stop and ask for directions to how women process multiple things at once, Shaunti opened our eyes and hearts to understand each other better.
The Results
Couples are talking! And hearing one another more clearly as they learn to listen to what's being said behind the words.
The Stories
Here's what couples are saying:
"We love our Conversation Deck! We sat in bed and played Gin, asking and answering questions as we discarded. It was so great to talk about something other than the kids or the calendar, the usual stuff we have to talk about. We laughed and dreamed and had fun just talking about something different. Thanks so much!"
"My wife and I played cards during our 40-minute drive to work. Thank you for the Conversation Deck--we had a blast!"
"Every twoignite event has been wonderful. Shaunti was the best yet!"
"While Shaunti talked, I kept leaning over to ask my husband, 'Is this true?' He kept nodding. I feel like I have a whole new understanding into how my husband thinks."
